Who We Are

Dr. Zheng Zhang and her team have committed to transnational and international education studies (TIES). Our research and educational projects advocate global connectedness, technological innovations, and youth’s digital literacy development in the 21st century.

Our expansive research areas include cross-border, bilingual digital storytelling; transnational education (e.g., Canadian offshore schools; Sino-Canada and Sino-Foreign cooperative education); cross-border literacy teacher education; and literacy and biliteracy curriculum and pedagogies. Responding to educational inequity and diversity around the globe, we focus on literacy curricular and pedagogical innovations that could enhance interrelations between people across geographic locales and emphasize the importance of collective problem solving for living well together.
